What's Inside?

Balsam FirThe majestic evergreen Balsam Fir yields a fresh, warming essential oil. Native to North America, the tree can grow to more than 24 metres tall, with branches covered in needles. Indigenous peoples historically used it for ceremonial and wellness purposes. Today Balsam Fir is used primarily for pulp and construction. It does not tolerate urban pollution well, so it is more commonly found in forests where the air is fresh and clean. The oil’s main constituent, ß-Pinene, can be used topically as part of a soothing massage to help calm the skin. Balsam Fir essential oil is steam-distilled from the bark, producing its characteristically fresh, woody aroma.

Black Pepper: Black Pepper is a popular culinary spice used to enhance the flavor of foods. With its intense, sharp, fruity, and spicy aroma, Black Pepper essential oil is excellent for enhancing the flavor of meats, soups, appetizers, and salads. Although Black Pepper is best known for its wide range of culinary uses, it offers equally noteworthy benefits when applied topically.

Hinoki: Hinoki essential oil, derived from the Japanese hinoki tree, helps soothe the skin. When applied topically, its fresh, woody and balsamic aroma helps create a relaxing atmosphere. Hinoki essential oil is also excellent for a soothing massage. In Japan, the oil is commonly used in bathing for relaxation, while the wood itself has been used for centuries to build shrines and temples. doTERRA uses by-products and rejected pieces from hinoki harvesting so that no valuable part of these trees goes to waste. doTERRA has also developed a unique sourcing model that allows Hinoki essential oil production to support Japan’s forest-management programmes and create jobs in rural areas. In this way, this unique premium-quality oil also contributes to the well-being of communities in its country of origin.

Patchouli: With its easily recognizable rich, musky, and sweet aroma, Patchouli is widely used in perfumery and in scented products such as detergents and air fresheners. Patchouli essential oil can benefit the skin in many ways. It helps cleanse and soothe the skin. The aroma of Patchouli also helps calm the mood.
