Sourcing
doTERRA sources Cilantro essential oil from regions in Asia where the climate conditions are ideal for growing the plant.
Cilantro and Coriander Leaf essential oils are extracted from the same plant. Coriander Leaf oil comes from the leaves, while Cilantro essential oil is derived from the seeds. Coriander is an annual herb and spice with small, feathery, green leaves. Its pale pink or white flowers bloom in umbrella-shaped clusters, and the plant can reach a height of up to 50 cm. Coriander is planted every two to three weeks starting from late spring and harvested approximately one month later. Cilantro essential oil is extracted from the seeds via steam distillation.
